Admission criteria for Bachelor studies
Admission Policy
Minimum University admission requirements in general:
Prospective students are invited to contact the Admission Department to inquire about CIT’s programs, admissions conditions, tuition fees, and available student services.
• Admission Applications of prospective students are processed only for those that satisfy the following minimum University admission requirements.
• Holders of Albanian High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Holders of International high school diplomas should have it evaluated and equivalent to the Albanian High School diploma.
• An equivalent diploma is recognized one only by the Educational Services Centre
Requirements to be registered at the “Canadian Institute of Technology”:
Graduated high school with successful results in the obligatory and elective exams of the State Matura, and were equipped with the respective diploma in the Republic of Albania.
Criteria:
Students will classify to be admitted in one of the study programs if they meet the following criteria:
• Diploma of High School.
• High school GPA 6.5 and above.
For Rankings:
For all students who have same average and to get a more accurate rankings of candidates for students, CIT will apply the following formula:
70% Average grade of high school, for all years and 30% the average grade of group subjects rated as important for each study program.
30% of the group subjects for the Faculty of Economy will consist of:

✓ Economy
30% of the group subjects for the Faculty of Engineering will consist of:
✓ Mathematics

Admission criteria for Bachelor studies International Students
Candidates apply by themselves or through an authorized person at the Educational Services Centre to obtain the document on the equivalence of high school studies by submitting the following documents:
• The application form for validity
• Copy of the original High School Diploma and Grade list, with apostille seal from the Albanian Embassy or Consulate, notarized and translated in Albanian.
• Photocopy of the applicant’s identification document
• A copy translated and unified with the original of the document certifying that it has passed national exams equivalent to those of the State Matura in the Republic of
Albania
Admission criteria of students of Master level (Local Students)
Criteria:
Students will classify to be admitted in one of the study programs if they meet the following criteria:
• Diploma of High School (exam of the State Matura), or the equivalent recognized by the Educational Services Centre.
• Have successfully completed in the Republic of Albania the studies and are provided with the relevant Diploma, in a program of first study cycle “Bachelor” or an integrated second study cycle program, that is accredited at the moment of the student graduation;
• With the average GPA, preferably no lower than 7.5.
• Mastering of English Language in accordance with paragraph 3, Instruction no. 52, dated 03.12.2015 of the Ministry of Education and Sports “for determining the levels of foreign languages and international tests for admission to second cycle programs and third, institutions of higher education.” According to this guideline a candidate is accepted when he meets the English language criteria, in range B1-C1, according to international tests cited in the guideline.

In addition to the preliminary test, students undergo an interview in English language, as part of the academic counselling.

Registrations Fee for one academic year are as below:
- For students who will be registered have won over 25% scholarship the Registration fee is 300 Euro.
- For programs whose tuition fee is 2450 or 2500 Euro the Registration fee is 100 Euro.
- The fee for deregistration based on certain criteria is 250 (two hundred fifty) Euro.
- The fee for deregistration in the middle of the academic year for students who are eligible for a full scholarship is 500 Euros.
*Registration fee is irreversible and irrevocable. The registration fee is added to the study fee. This fee includes enrollment in the institution, certification of grades and any other certification that CIT will provide free of charge to students.

Tuition Fees:
The payment for students who register in the first cycle of studies in Faculty of Economy programs is 1950 (one thousand and nine hundred fifty) Euros and in the Faculty of Engineering programs is 2450 (two thousand and four hundred fifty) Euros for each academic year.
The tuition fee for students enrolled in the second cycle of studies for both faculties is 2500 (two thousand and five hundred) Euros for each academic year.
The second / third time course attendance fee is 200 (two hundred) Euros for the first cycle of studies and 250 (two hundred fifty) Euros for the second cycle for both faculties. Diploma’s fee not awarded within the academic year is 500 (five hundred) Euro.
Discounts and Scholarships:
Students that are registered for the first time, will benefit discount of tuition fee as below:
- At the rate of 100% of the tuition fee for students with GPA 10.00 (ten). This category pays a registration fee of 300 (three hundred) euros. (4 Scholarships)
- At the rate of 75% of the tuition fee for students with GPA 9.8 (nine points eight). This category pays a registration fee of 300 (three hundred) Euros (20 Scholarships)
- At the rate of 50% of the tuition fee for students with GPA 9.5 (nine points five). This category pays a registration fee of 300 (three hundred) Euros (20 Scholarships)
- At the rate of 25% of the tuition fee for students with GPA 9.00. This category pays a registration fee of 200 (two hundred) euros. (20 Scholarships).
- At the rate of 15% of the tuition fee for students with GPA 8.5 (eight point five). This category pays a registration fee of 200 (two hundred) euros. (20 Scholarships).
For students that are coming from (Kosovo, North Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac,(Territories where Albanians live) there will be an extra 15% discount of tuition fee in addition to discounts on the basis of average grades.
Reduction Fee is only valid for those students who are registered in full time programs and only for the first academic year. In the following academic year, students who fail to keep the GPA they had, drop in the category below.
In the following academic year students are not beneficiaries of the reduction fees for the payment of course/s that student attends for the second time or not in the respective academic year.
Reduction of tuition fees for other categories:
- Up to 50% discount for students who are academic or administrative employees at “CIT” and members of their families.
Frequently asked questions.
- How do I apply?
The Canadian Institute of Technology has an open system in the study programs offered. The Canadian Institute of Technology requires that all new students fill an application form in order to be accepted in one of the programs offered by CIT.
This form can be filled on-line or in the premises of the Admission Office in CIT.

- When should I apply
Canadian Institute of Technology evaluates and accepts CV-s, applications and motivational letters throughout the year.
In Albania usually enrollment dates are during the months of September and October.
- Is there a fee in application process?
No, we don’t apply application fee. The Canadian Institute of Technology reviews you application and makes an admissions decision for free.
- How does the electronic library work?
Each student enrolled will have access to the latest available editions, of a package of 10 e-books for a very low price.
Free Online Learning Centre (OLC) access to faculty (includes PowerPoint presentations, solution manuals, test banks, instructor resources etc.…) for all the chosen and relevant e-books to the subject(s).

- How can I meet other international students?
You can connect with other international students at CIT by joining our Students Clubs. Please email admissions@cit.edu.al for more information about joining Students Clubs.
You can also visit our Student Affairs Office and International Relations office.
- What does the enrollment committee consider when making admission decisions?
Entry level test scores, letters of recommendation, English language proficiency and Grade Point Average of the previous courses are among the items the admission committee reviews. Specific requirements vary by program.
- How long does it take to complete the program?
Our bachelor program is expanded in three years of full-time studies or expressed in academic semesters. There are 6 academic semesters in total. Dates for starting the new academic year usually are notified by the end of all procedures of high school graduates. From experience in previous years, the new academic year usually starts in the middle or by the end of October.
Master program is expanded in two years of full-time studies or differently expressed in 4 academic semesters.
- Can CIT students benefit participate in Erasmus calls for mobility?
Yes, CIT students have the opportunity to participate in Erasmus calls for mobility and they can be advised during the process by our International Relation Office and Student affairs Office.
- Payment Procedure
Unfortunately, we don’t offer accommodation/facilities for foreign students yet. Regarding the accommodation, the best option would be to get the information from a Real Estate Agency that can help with this process, since we don’t have the right information about the accommodation due to the rapid changes that occur in this section.

Admission criteria for Bachelor studies
- Every student who has a high school diploma or its equivalent has the right to apply for Bachelor Studies.
- The average of the high school (CGPA) must be above 6.5 as provided by the Albanian law.
Admission criteria for Bachelor studies International Students

VISA APPLICATION:
Visa for study purposes (D / ST)● Document certifying the registration / admission to an educational institution in Albania;
● Documents that prove and certify the coverage of all living costs and tuition fees;
● Travel health insurance document for the duration of the visa;
● Document that provides proof of accommodation while in the Republic of Albania;
● Criminal Record (Good Character) Document, legalized according to the regime with the relevant country which has issued this document.
Tuition Fees and Scholarships
Registrations Fee for one academic year are as below:
- For students who have won 25% scholarship the Registration fee is 300 Euro.
- For programs whose tuition fee is 1950, 2450 or 2500 Euro the Registration fee is 100 Euro.
- For programs whose tuition fee is 1500 Euro the Registration fee is 300 Euro.
- In cases when students are asked to be tested for English Language, the testing fee will be 10 Euro and the testing will take place in CIT facilities. The fee is irreversible and irrevocable.
