FIRST INTERNATIONAL HACKTECH 2021

Today at CIT premises was organized the Opening Ceremony of HackTech 2021 event, a collaboration between Canadian Institute of Technology and York University, Toronto Canada.

The event started with a Welcome Speech of Vice-Rector of CIT – Assoc. Prof. Vasil Qano. Professor Qano underlined the importance for CIT to organize such events and thanked all Guest Speakers who honored us with their presence.

Ing. Shefqet Meda, lecturer at CIT and ideator of the event, during his speech
mentioned the reasons for organizing this event and the necessity to focus on the important issue of Cyber Safety for Kids!

It was a pleasure to have on this hackathon event our Special Guest Speakers:

Mrs. Alma Tandili – President of State Agency for the Rights and Protection of the child. Mrs. Tandili spoke about the latest legal changes, inter-institutional cooperation, and the importance of parent and child awareness for the safety and protection of children online.

Dr. Roberto De Bernardi – UNICEF representative in Albania. Dr. De Bernardi spoke was about the Protection and Rights of children online.

PhD. Vilma Tomco – General Director at NAECCS, during her speech thanked Canadian Institute of Technology for organizing this event and underlined the importance of the chosen topic.

Mr. Mirgit Vataj – Alo 116 representative. Mr. Vataj held a presentation about the topic: Children, the Internet, and the Media.
As part of the collaboration of CIT with Deutsch Albanische Schule, children from this school here were invited to the event and Mr. Vataj held a presentation to inform primary school children about Alo 116 services and the importance of internet safety in social media.

PhD. Aber Malaj from Polis University spoke about Cyber Ops.

Mrs. Liridona Cani Raza – Representative of Lufthansa Industry Solutions. Her topic was about Tools and Apps for Cyber Safety.

Mr. Rexhion Qafa spoke about AKCESK’s mission and contribution to improving the regulatory framework for online child protection.

Mr. Eldi Sherifi from Commissioner from the Rights and Protection of the Child Agency informed the audience about Personal Data protection and Online Security.

York University in Toronto was represented by Prof. Enas Tarawneh and Ms. Esra Kastrati

Prof. Tarawneh’s presentation was about AI in Cybersafety.

While Ms. Kastrati spoke about OWASP Top 10 Security Risks and Vulnerabilities.

PhD. Miranda Harizaj’s speech was about Internet Safety, Apps.

Mr. David Gvineria – Child Protection Specialist at UNICEF. His topic was “Ted Talks Sessions” Findings in-depth assessment of Missing Issues.

The event was moderated by CIT lectures Mrs. Anxhela Baraj and Mrs. Klea Çapari. The first session of the event was accessible even online via the ZOOM platform.

The second session of the event continued with the competition between the competing teams for the solution of the quiz, exercises, and programming challenges.
